VIRGINIA AIRS


Virginia AIRS is a regional affiliate (chapter) of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS), the only professional association dedicated to the field of information and referral. 


OUR SERVICE TO YOU

VAIRS is the statewide affiliate for the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) for the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are here to serve you! Our job is to further the goals of information and referral/assistance services through providing opportunities for networking, education, training, certification testing and community awareness. Additionally, collectively we strive to ensure all Virginians have access to quality health and human service information.

VAIRS works closely with AIRS to support you in the important work you do. AIRS is the driving force behind the development of clear and consistent professional Standards that benchmark every aspect of quality I&R. We invite you to learn more about VAIRS and to join us as a member.

OUR PURPOSE

 

  1. Increase general community awareness and utilization of Information and Referral (I&R) services

  2. Improve the quality of information and referral through education, training, and advocacy

  3. Foster better communications and relationships among information and referral providers

  4. Provide members with information on new human services and changes in existing services

  5. Assist members to meet and maintain national information and referral standards as set by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems and the national 2-1-1 collaborative

MEMBERS

Membership is open to anyone who provides information and referral services or is interested in supporting this vital service. For example, some of our members include 2-1-1s; comprehensive I&Rs; Area Agencies on Aging; United Ways; military resource centers; and more. I&R providers and other interested individuals from adjacent states are also welcome to join us as members or participate in training webinars.

We encourage all individuals and organizations dedicated to providing quality I&R services in Virginia to join us!

 

By becoming a member of Virginia AIRS you automatically become a member of AIRS and receive the benefits of both organizations.
