The Information Specialist supports the Foundation’s nationwide helpline by providing accurate, compassionate information and referral services to individuals affected by epilepsy. Working closely with affiliates, healthcare professionals, and internal departments, this role ensures callers receive timely support, appropriate referrals, and reliable educational information.
Responsibilities include responding to inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms; searching referral databases; documenting caller information; maintaining resource listings; assisting affiliates with local referral needs; monitoring online forums; and following up with callers to determine whether resources were helpful. The Specialist also stays current on epilepsy-related information, participates in training and professional development, and ensures best practices in information and referral.
This is a full-time, remote, temporary position operating Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 4:00PM ET.
Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of community resources.
The Information Specialist reports to the Senior Information Specialist.
