Last year’s Innovation Award winner, the Military & Family Helpline (MFH), continues to build meaningful momentum and expand its impact.
Since launching as part of 211 services, the team has:
- Added 600+ military-connected resources
- Supported 4,500+ veterans, service members, and their families in just 9 months
A key driver of this success is their growing partnership with Offutt Air Force Base, where they now participate in the Community Partnership Council—collaborating directly with base leadership and community organizations to strengthen coordination and address shared priorities.
Like many across the Community Navigation sector, the MFH team has also been on the front lines helping individuals navigate uncertainty, from SNAP benefit changes to broader national and global challenges. What sets this effort apart is the lived experience behind it, including a veteran navigator embedded on base and a team of specialists delivering consistent, compassionate support.
The program’s impact is also gaining national attention. In addition to recognition from Inform USA, MFH has been recognized by Blue Star Families and the Association of Defense Communities. Interest is also growing across the country, with communities exploring how to replicate this model and discussions underway with the Military & Family Policy team at the Pentagon.
