Did you know Volunteers started VIA LINK in 1928 by putting handwritten resource lists together and giving them to people in need? They still have some typed resource directories from the 1930s! and did you know that VIA LINK has won the Innovation Award for Disasters twice?!
VIA LINK, is physically located in New Orleans, LA but within their staff of nearly 100, many of the contact specialists live in other communities and even different states! This is the organization's third accreditation and they serve southeast Louisiana with both crisis and 211 services. In the past several years the team has worked to improve the quality of all parts of the operation but placed a special emphasis on call handling through robust monitoring and coaching efforts.
