Island Senior Resources is seeking a welcoming, organized, and service-oriented Intake/Receptionist to serve as a frontline point of contact for clients, visitors, and community members at its Oak Harbor office.

The Intake/Receptionist will work closely with the Reception Team and other programs across the organization to help individuals connect with the services, staff, and community resources that best meet their needs.

Responsibilities include greeting and assisting clients in person, by phone, and by email; screening and triaging requests; helping clients complete intake documents; scheduling appointments, classes, support groups, and activities; documenting client and community contacts; maintaining resource information; and providing clerical and administrative support. The position will also provide backup support to the Case Aide during absences or periods of high demand.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills and be comfortable managing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Candidates should be able to work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, de-escalate difficult situations, and demonstrate patience, sound judgment, and cultural competency when serving a diverse client population. Experience serving older adults or people with disabilities and bilingual skills are preferred.

Applicants should have two years of relevant college coursework and at least one year of experience in social services or an administrative support role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field and relevant experience is preferred.

This part-time, non-exempt position averages 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is based primarily in Oak Harbor, Washington, with occasional duties at the Langley office. The wage range is $23.33–$25.25 per hour, depending on experience.
