Island Senior Resources is seeking a Senior Director of Development & Major Gifts to lead the organization’s contributed revenue program and serve as its lead frontline fundraiser.
Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, developing individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies, growing major and legacy giving, strengthening donor stewardship, and creating and refining a comprehensive development plan. The Senior Director will also establish fundraising goals and performance measures, forecast revenue, monitor donor retention, maintain accurate donor records, and oversee the Director of Annual Giving.
The Senior Director will work closely with the Executive Director, Board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to strengthen a culture of philanthropy. The position will support donor gatherings and special events and translate Island Senior Resources’ programs, finances, strategic priorities, and community impact into compelling donor communications and cases for support.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic, relationship-focused fundraiser with demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and closing significant gifts. Candidates should have strong leadership, communication, storytelling, organizational, financial literacy, donor database, and relationship-building skills.
A minimum of five years of progressive fundraising experience, including success in individual and major giving, is required. Eight or more years of fundraising experience, including three years with senior development responsibilities, is preferred. Experience with capital campaigns, planned giving, event management, staff supervision, and nonprofits serving older adults, people with disabilities, or other human-services populations is beneficial. CFRE certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months is preferred.
The salary range is $105,000 to $140,000, depending on qualifications. The position includes health and vision insurance, paid leave and holidays, life and AD&D insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, an optional 401(k), and relocation assistance.
